FINAL PROJECTS


Final projects account for 40% of the overall course grade.

Project Advisor: You should ask your project advisor to send an email to Marco Ramoni to provide a short evaluation of your results and a score between 1 and 10 by Tuesday Dec 13th. It is your responsibility to make sure that the advisor will contact me by the due date.

Presentation: Final project presentations will take place on the last two days of class, according to the class calendar. Here is the presentation roster:

Presentation Guidelines: Presentations are allocated 10 minutes each: 8 minutes presentation and 2 minutes for questions. This amounts to 5 slides maximum (plus title slide), with the following outline:

Title: Your name, name of the adivsor and title of the project.

Introduction: Objective, motivations and challenges of the project.

Background: What was the state of the art before your project and how it compares to your contribution.

Methods: What was the method followed by your project and why.

Results: What are the results of your project.

Discussion: What are the implications of your work and where would you go from here.

Final Paper: A final project report is due on Tuesday Dec 13th. No exceptions.

Final Paper Guidelines: The final paper must conform to the Final Project Paper Guidelines (courtesy of Dr Gil Alterovitz). No exceptions.
